Small Breaks

It’s been about 24 hours since Pepper’s last seizure. Every time we have these little breaks I take a moment to enjoy my family. 

Pepper absolutely loves her brother. He’s the only one that can truly make her laugh. He definitely drives us crazy at times when we find ourselves swimming in his toy car collection but I know I miss it when Steph and I tend to Pepper. We are lucky we have the support of family and friends. They’ve watched our son while we’ve been in the hospital and have sometimes taken him for a day or two just so we can have a quiet evening. But during those quiet evenings we look at each other and talk about how much we miss him. He has such an imagination and Pepper loves watching him play. I love watching them interact. I remember once when she was having a seizure and he came over to kiss her. That kiss brought her out of the seizure. I can tell that she knows when he’s around because she’s just so happy. I hope that never ends. Am I being a wishful parent??
