Welcome Back
Since we left you, Pepper has had three more seizures. Our count now sits at 134. Thankfully, none of these seizures have been at daycare, and all three were short in length. We suspect that getting these standard daycare colds is not helping matters. I have faith that eventually she will laugh these germs off. Hopefully.
I am happy to report however, that she is getting a lot of love and cuddles from her teachers at daycare. We are constantly being told that she is having a great day, is sleeping well for her naps, eating well at meal times and is always smiling. It’s not the normal child’s reaction to daycare, but for us, it’s the new normal.
Pepper has also taken her 12 month vaccinations like a champ. She did have a seizure and a fever the next day, though. She also has a welt the size of a Pringles lid on her arm, but otherwise, she’s doing well. I was a little disappointed in being rushed from our doctor’s office though, considering this is the first time our family doctor is hearing of her potential diagnosis. Wow, really? The doctor only had 10 minutes to listen to me, diagnose what’s wrong and send us for follow-up! Yikes. I actually went home and cried. There’s a first for everything it seems.
My first weeks back at work have been great. Tough, yes. Emotionally difficult, yes. But otherwise great. I couldn’t have a nicer bunch of folks to work with. Seriously. Even the colleagues who have moved on from our company still hold a warm place in my heart. Thanks guys. You make a tough situation much easier to cope with.
And the rest of us? Glad you asked. We got our house broken into on Monday. Yes, we needed more bad news apparently, so some (enter curse word here) broke in and stole a few things from the house. Nothing too irreplaceable, but that is not the point. I would like to invite the thieves back. It would be a great opportunity to let out the pent up frustration over what’s been happening to my beautiful little girl. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t change anything. It’s time to take up kick-boxing, I think.
Last note for this entry. Wishing everyone a happy Halloween. I hope the “Frankenstorm” doesn’t get you too wet!
